12 Engineering Colleges, 100+ Students Attend Tekla India Workshop

NAVI MUMBAI, India, Mar 5, 2015 - On 20 and 21st February 2015, Tekla India hosted its first Faculty Development Program along with its training partner Intek Educational Services, bringing together educators and students from more than 12 engineering colleges and over 100 students. The objective was to impart knowledge of Tekla BIM technology and its benefits to the Indian construction industry.


S. Gunasekaran, Managing Director, Intek Educational Services who is an authorized training partner of Tekla for the Chennai region explained the importance of engineering students to learn the latest Tekla BIM technology. Twelve educational institutions with more than 36 faculties participated at the two day workshop. These included Annamalai University, E.G.S Pillay Engineering College and VRS College of Engineering & Technology.

At the workshop, Tekla showcased its BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology with a specific focus towards reinforced concrete. The overwhelming response of the students and faculty alike was seen from the participation at the various presentations during the two days of the workshop. All the participants were taught real life construction concepts and the use of Tekla BIM technology to bring automation and efficiency in construction.

Speaking on the occasion Dr C Sundarraj, Principal said “Latest technology like Tekla BIM solutions will really help our students to get an edge over others. We are really impressed with the benefits of Tekla software and wish to promote the same among our students. We are planning to introduce a special incentive among students and faculties who will use Tekla BIM technology for any research work”.
