PHOENIX, AZ, Dec 14 - Open Design Alliance (ODA) announced the release of version 3.9.1 of Teigha, its software development platform for engineering applications.

Version 3.9.1 contains more than 400 bug fixes and enhancements, and continues the ODA's long-standing trend of providing regular and timely updates to members. One significant improvement is support for OpenGL ES 2.0, the current standard for mobile rendering, on Android and iOS platforms. The new Teigha rendering device gives members access to the improved performance and richer feature set provided by OpenGL ES 2.

In addition, Teigha 3.9.1 provides support for Visual Studio 2013, the latest version of Visual Studio released by Microsoft in October. Also included is beta support for dimension breaks.

Neil Peterson, CTO of ODA comments, "Our new OpenGL ES 2 support includes a number of benefits for mobile platform rendering: better performance, improved lighting support, and lower memory usage for raster images and textures. It also provides better hardware compatibility with today's mobile devices."

However, the benefits of this new technology are not limited to stand-alone mobile platforms. Peterson adds, "ES 2 provides more flexibility than previous OpenGL versions, and our goal has been to leverage this flexibility. We are using this same core technology in Teigha Cloud, our new cloud-based rendering system scheduled for release in mid-2014."

Teigha version 3.9.1 is now available. For more information, visit www.opendesign.com.
